Coach Siot Tanquingcen likened him to Robert Horry of San Antonio Spurs in the NBA for his clutch shooting and if you put highlight plays in the 2005-06 season, his end-game heroics should on top of that list. And Santos had steadily delivered during crunch time that made the legions of Ginebra to live him even better.
The 11-year veteran found a home with the Kings after spending most of his career with Purefoods and Alaska. Last season, the 33-year old proud son of Meycauayan, Bulacan was one of Tanquingcen’s most productive players off the bench, averaging 7.8 points (fourth among locals), 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Too bad he started the new season on the reserved list but once activated, this former San Sebastian Stag will definitely boost the backcourt of the already talented Kings lineup.
